TORONTO: There is great new for prospective Canadian immigrants as the country plans to admit one million newcomers by 2020.
The new immigration targets were tabled by Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen who himself came to Canada as an immigrant from Somalia.
Under the Liberal government’s so-called “most ambitious immigration levels in recent history”, the number of new immigrants and refugees will rise to 310,000 in 2018 from 300,000 in 2017.
In 2019, the number of new immigrants will rise to 330,000. It will further rise to 340,000 in 2020.
The minister said that by 2020, the number of new Canadian immigrants each year will become about 1% percent of the population. These immigration levels have become necessary to offset the country’s aging population, he said.
In fact, the government’s own advisory committee has suggested that Canada should admit 450,000 new immigrants because the country’s old population is aging very fast, the birth rate is declining and there is a perpetual shortage of skilled workers.
Filipinos, Indians and Chinese are the three biggest immigrant groups admitted into Canada each year.
Canadian immigrants is a major source of manpower and money for the country as newcomers bring billions of dollars into the economy.
Canada simply cannot survive without new immigrants.
Canadian immigration is a Ponzi scheme. The government only wants wealthy Chinese immigrants to purchase plywood homes in Toronto and Vancouver, and for India foreign students to spend over $40k a year on Canadian college life which is mediocre. Haven’t you immigrants saw that infamous Big Red (Chanty Binx) on YouTube?
What about immigrants from Africa & Caribbean? Are they considered too poor and too Black for white Canada?
