Brampton Indo-Canadian man arrested for murder of Paviter Singh Bassi

BRAMPTON: Another Indo-Canadian man has been arrested for the murder of 21-year-old Paviter Singh Bassi in Brampton in March this year.

Harminder Bassi, 24, of Brampton, was arrested on June 6 and charged with first degree murder.

In what was the eighth murder in Peel Region in 2018, Paviter Singh was attacked with sticks in the area of Sandalwood Parkway East and Cedarcliff Trail in Brampton in the evening of March 19. He was rushed to a Toronto Trauma Centre where he succumbed to his injuries.

Three persons have already been charged with murder in this case. They are Karanvir Singh Bassi, 22, Guryodh Singh Khattra, 23, and Gurraj Bassi, 20.

The accused are not related to the victim.
