India has cancelled the meeting of external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj with her Pakistani counterpart in New York after Pakistani-backed militants killed three police men in Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan Post issued special postage stamps glorifying slain Kashmiri militant leader Burhan Wani as a ‘Freedom Icon’.

The postal stamps worth eight Pakistani rupees carry the picture of the militant leader and his associates who were gunned down by Indian security forces in July 8, 2016, reports The Nation daily of Pakistan.

The postal stamps were issued on July 24.

The daily says the stamps have been issued to “locally and internationally highlight the brutalities of Indian troops on the people of Occupied Kashmir engaged in a peaceful struggle to achieve freedom from India’s illegal occupation of their homeland.”

“The commemorative stamps also portray the victims of pellet guns and destruction caused by the chemical weapons used by the Indian forces personnel in the occupied territory,” the report says.
