TORONTO: Indo-Canadian comedian Russell Peters’ four-part comedy-drama series The Indian Detective will debut on CTV on Nov 23 at 9pm.

The one-hour show features Peters as Toronto cop Doug D’Mello who gets caught up in a murder case while visiting his father in Mumbai. The investigation leads Doug to uncover a dangerous conspiracy while dealing with his own ambivalence towards a country where, despite his heritage, he is an outsider.

The series has been filmed in Mumbai, Toronto and Cape Town.

Explaining The Indian Detective getting the prime slot, Mike Cosentino, president of content and programming at Bell Media, said, “Peters is a must-see Canadian icon, whose talent has been recognized and celebrated all over the world by millions of fans. We’ve given The Indian Detective a much-deserved prime spot, during television’s biggest night, and are excited to share Russell’s first series with viewers across the country.”

The Indian Detective stars Canadian icon William Shatner as a billionaire property and Bollywood star Anupam Kher plays the role of Doug’s father Stanley D’Mello.
