BRAMPTON: Five persons, including three children, are dead after a fire engulfed a home in Brampton on early Monday morning.

According to Peel Regional Police, the fire was reported a little after 2 am when emergency crews rushed to the engulfed house on Conestoga Drive, near Sandalwood Parkway and Kennedy Road.

While three persons – two adults and a child – were found dead inside the house, two children were rushed to hospital by paramedics. But they succumbed to their injuries in hospital.

The victims have been identified as Nazir Ali, his wife Raven Ali-O’Dea, and their children Alia, 10, Jayden, 8, and Layla,7.

The woman’s mother Bonnie was rushed to a trauma centre with critical injuries.

Two persons, who lived in the basement, managed to escape.

Mayor Patrick Brown tweeted, “My prayers & condolences are with the family & friends who have been impacted by this devastating fire on Conestoga Dr in Brampton.”
