2 Brampton Punjabi men hijack car, steal credit cards to shop

BRAMPTON: Two Brampton Punjabi men – Jasgeen Singh, 22, and Sukhjinder Kular, 32 – have been arrested for hijacking a vehicle with a woman inside it, throwing her out, stealing bank cards and shopping with the victim’s cards.

According to Peel Police, a 21-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman from Belleville parked their vehicle at a gas station in the area of Steeles Avenue and Airport Road in Brampton at about 10.30 am on Tuesday, June 8.

The male driver exited leaving the vehicle running,  while the female passenger remained inside the vehicle.

At this time, one of the suspects entered the vehicle, assaulted the female passenger and drove away with her inside the vehicle.

The suspect drove for a short distance before pulling over and forcing the female victim out of the vehicle. The suspect then picked up another suspect and sped away. The two attended numerous retail establishments, and used the victims’ bank cards.

No physical injuries were sustained. 

The two suspects were later arrested. Police identified them as Jasgeen Singh, 22, Sukhjinder Kular, 32 both from Brampton and charged them with various offences.

Jasgeen Singh has been charged with:

– Robbery

Possession and use of traffic credit card

– Possession of traffic credit card data

Sukhjinder Kular faces the following offences:

– Possession and use of traffic credit card

– Possession of traffic credit card data

– Breach of probation

They attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Wednesday, June 9, for a bail hearing.
