This shop, which sells brassware and handicrafts, was the first shop to come up when Hindu and Sikh refugees arriving from Pakistan after the Partition of India in 1947 started Janpath Market on Queen's Way (later named Janpath Road). Owner Ramesh Monga, who is standing in front of the shop, says there used to be just 27 shops in the old Janpath Market. Now it has spread all over. Brass used to cost Rs 8 per kg then, and now it costs Rs 500 per kg, he says.
