BOLLYWOOD: Holiday in New York over, Bollywood’s most stalked couple Ranbir-Katrina are ready to return to Mumbai without Katrina’s getting the one thing that she really wants.
A marriage proposal.
Much as lovers and other reality shirkers would like it to happen, the Ranbir-Katrina marriage is unlikely to happen now or in the near future.
A very close friend of the couple says he is reluctant to pop the ‘m’ word.
Says the friend, “Katrina is in it (the relationship) for keeps. In fact she made it very clear to Ranbir that she was only interested in a relationship that culminated in marriage. For her it is either everything or nothing. This is why they broke up many times and came together again. Ranbir wouldn’t commit for marriage and Katrina wouldn’t have it any other way except marriage.”
Apparently, Ranbir who has ended several relationships in the past to avoid marriage, agreed to Katrina’s wish. But now when she is looking at a date for ‘d’ day, he is looking away.
Says the friend, “Ranbir and Katrina did begin to plan a life together. But the new home that is being talked about is not part of their planned life together. Ranbir has temporarily moved into the new place because his family bungalow is being renovated. Once it’s done he will move back. Ranbir will never move out of his home with his parents.”
Neither would he marry without his parents, specially his mother’s approval.
“While Neetu has not expressed disapproval of Katrina neither has she given her consent to the match. Whenever she is asked about her son’s marriage plans, she evades the issue with kids-will-be-kids laughter. This really irks Katrina who’s looking at finding a place in the Kapoor khandaan. But the place doesn’t seem to be hers to take,” says the source.
Katrina, however, has her heart set on marriage. She has apparently stopped signing film.
A filmmaker, who has worked with her and shared a great rapport with her, says, “I don’t think she’s keen on signing any films. She is planning to get married.”
But will Ranbir follow her to the altar? Or will he alter Katrina’s plans?
