Mississauga carjacking suspects Ramanpreet Singh of Brampton and Harmandeep Singh of Mississauga threw the 59-year-old woman out of her SUV and fled in the vehicle

MISSISSAUGA: Ramanpreet Singh, 22, of Brampton and Harmandeep Singh, 29, from Mississauga have been arrested for carjacking in broad daylight in Mississauga.

The two Indo-Canadian men approached a 59-year-old woman from Mississauga seated in her SUV in the area of Pacific Gate and Tomken Road on May 21 at about 2.25 pm.They forced open the vehicle door, dragged her from the vehicle, and threw her to the ground even as they continued assaulting her. The two men then got into her SUV and fled the area.

The woman was taken to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Central Robbery Bureau of Peel Police quickly located the stolen vehicle in the area of Hurontario Street and Eglinton Avenue and arrested the two men.

Ramanpreet Singh faces one count of robbery and other charges. He has earlier been charged with kidnapping on April 10.

Harmandeep Singh has been charged with robbery and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
