TORONTO: Ontario has lifted capacity restrictions at restaurants, bars, gyms, casinos and indoor events from today – October 25.
Wearing masks will remain mandatory until March.
The province has lifted capacity limits in restaurants, bars, food or drink establishments, indoor sports and recreational facilities such as gyms, casinos, bingo halls and other gaming establishments; and indoor meeting and event spaces.
The government has allowed other settings to lift capacity limits and physical distancing requirements if they choose to require proof of vaccination, including:
Personal care services (e.g., barber shops, salons, body art);
Indoor areas of museums, galleries, aquariums, zoos, science centres, landmarks, historic sites, botanical gardens and similar attractions;
Indoor areas of amusement parks;
Indoor areas of fairs, rural exhibitions, festivals;
Indoor tour and guide services;
Boat tours;
Indoor areas of marinas and boating clubs;
Indoor clubhouses at outdoor recreational amenities;
Open house events provided by real estate agencies; and
Indoor areas of photography studios and services.
Locations where a wedding, funeral or religious service, rite or ceremony takes place may also implement proof of vaccination requirements for services, rites, or ceremonies at the location.
Taxi driver shot dead in Scarborough
A taxi driver is dead after being shot in Scarborough on Sunday evening.
Toronto Police attended calls about a taxi driver hitting a fence in the area of Pharmacy and Eglinton Avenues at about 8.50 pm.
Police officers found the driver with life-threatening gunshot wounds. He was rushed to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
25-40 mm of rain likely
Environment Canada says Toronto and southern Ontario will see spells of rain starting early Monday as a low-pressure system moving through the region.
The area could see between 25 and 40 mm of rain by Monday night.

Mississauga crash
A man is in hospital with serious injuries when his vehicle flipped over following a crash in Mississauga on Sunday.
The accident happened in the area of Creditview Road and Edenrose Street, south of Eglinton Avenue West, just before 5 p.m.
