MUMBAI: Bollywood super star Salman Khan, who recently provided free meals to 5,000 frontline workers fighting the COVID pandemic in Mumbai, has now opened his purse for needy workers of the film industry.

As he did last year by giving Rs 3,000 each to the daily wage workers of the film industry, Salman has now decided to give Rs 1,500 each to 25,000 workers – technicians, make-up artistes, stunt men and spot boys – of Bollywood.

Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees (FWICE) president B.N. Tiwari has been quoted by The Times of India as  saying, “We have sent Salman Khan a list of names of the people in need and he has agreed to deposit the money.”

Yash Raj Films too will support 35,000 senior citizen workers.

Salman Khan has also announced that the earnings from his upcoming film “Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai” will be given for COVID relief.

The film, which features Salman Khna as Radhe and also inlcudes Disha Patani and Randeep Hooda, will be released on Eid on May 13.
