qutub-minar
Qutub Minar in Delhi is a rare sight and architectural wonder. It was the brainchild of Delhi's first sultan Qutub-ud-ddin Aibak. The construction of the 73-metre tall Qutub started in 1192 and its fifth and last storey was completed in 1368 by Feroze Shah Tughlik. Made of marble and red sandstone, the Qutub Minar was to serve as a minaret to issue the adhan to Muslims.
