BOLLYWOOD: The presence of her ex-boyfriend Vivek Oberoi made Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to avoid going to perform live at this year’s Miss India beauty pageant.
The actress, who was requested for a live performance, apparently demanded to see the names of actors scheduled to perform on the D-day. When she saw Vivek Oberoi’s name, she then decided not to go. Instead, she decided have her dance number from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s films pre-recorded, according to Mid-Day.
After her break-up with Vivek, Aishwarya and Vivek have been seen together only once and that was in 2009 at the Andheri Sports Complex for the Mumbai Police Film Star Nite Umang. At that time, Vivek Oberoi sat in the same row, just a few feet away from Aishwarya and Amitabh Bachchan.
It may be recalled that after her ugly break-up with Salman Khan in 2002, Aishwarya started dating Vivek Oberoi. Which made Vivek Salman’s target.
In 2003, Vivek held a press conference to expose Salman Khan for threatening him and making 41 calls to him in one night.
Later, Vivek said that press conference destroyed his career. There were rumours that Aishwarya instigated Vivek to go public against Salman Khan. But she later described Vivek’s press conference as a `immature’ decision.
Aishwarya and Vivek worked together in in the 2004 film Kyun Ho Gaya Na.
