BRAMPTON: In the largest drug bust in its history, Peel Regional Police have arrested three Punjabi men as it has cracked cracked an international drug trafficking network by seizing illegal narcotics worth over $25 million.

Jaspreet Singh, 28, of Brampton, Ravinder Boparai, 27, of Mississauga and Gurdeep Gakhal, 38, Caledon near here, are among those arrested. 

Khalilullah Amin, 46, from Caledon, and Wray Ip, 27, of Richmond Hill are the other two men who have been arrested.

Peel Regioal Police have seized 160 kg of cocaine, 182 kg of Methamphetamine and 38 kilograms of Ketamine from them.

The Punjabi men used commercial trucking businesses to transport drugs from the US into Canada and distributed these in the Region of Peel and surrounding areas of the Greater Toronto Area.

Police have also unearthed two business facilities –  North King Logistics at 50 Steeles Avenue in Milton and Friend Furniture at 2835 Argentia Road in Mississauga – used for the distribution of drugs.

The arrests and the seizure of drugs come after 11 months of targeted investigations into the gang network under Project Zucaritas.

“The seizures of these drugs represent a significant financial impact to organized crime, which in turn will limit their ability to finance future illicit activities,” said Peel Regional Police.
