BRAMPTON: Twelve people have been arrested and charged with assaulting two victims with swords and bats in Brampton.

Peel Police are seeking public assistance in finding a vehicle that fled the scene of the crime that occurred in Brampton in the early hours of December 14.

At about 1.05 am on that day, police were called to the area of Ruth Avenue and Kennedy Road in Brampton about a fight involving a large group of men on the roadway.

Giving the sequence of the events, police said two men were walking in the area when they were assaulted by several men using swords and bats. Both the victims were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A black or dark coloured Jeep Wrangler with damage to the front windshield was seen fleeing the area, almost hitting several people in the process.

Soon after, police identified those involved and arrested and charged twelve men with the assault on the two victims.  Investigators are still attempting to locate the Jeep Wrangler with damage to the front windshield and are asking the public for assistance in finding it.
