Brampton truck driver Harvinder Singh arrested for smuggling cocaine from US

BRAMPTON: Harvinder Singh, 25-year-old Punjabi truck driver from Brampton, has been arrested for smuggling cocaine worth $3.5 million from the US into Canada.

Harvinder Singh was arrested on March 31 when his commercial truck entered Canada from the US using the Blue Water Bridge in Point Edward. He was referred for a secondary examination.

During the examination, border services officers seized approximately 62 kg of suspected cocaine, valued at approximately $3.5 million.

The Canadian Border Security Agency arrested Harvinder Singh and and transferred him to the custody of RCMP officers from Windsor Detachment.

He has been charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
