Gujarati family with fake Canadian visa arrested at Delhi airport

NEW DELHI: A Gujarati man, his wife and their daughter have been arrested at Indira Gandhi International Airport here with fake Canadian visas on their passports.

The family from Mehsana in Gujarat was arrested at Terminal-3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport on Wednesday night as their behaviour looked suspicious.

When their documents were checked, police found discrepancies in them.

Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which mans the security at the airport, took them into custody.

The family were reportedly going to Santa Cruz in the US via Frankfurt in Germany and Sao Paulo in Brazil.

The Canadian high commission in Delhi was contacted and it confirmed that the visas on the three passports were fake.

The family were handed over to the Foreigners’ Regional Registration Office (FRRO) for investigation into how they managed to get fake visas.

  1. Crazy people never think about pros and cons. Very sad. If no qualification to enter U.S. build the real capacity. No words to explain pain they suffered before death. Small children became victim Entire insident is terrible. Definately this was not venture The fancing of legal boundries is the protection of civil.
