TORONTO: Toronto man Ginno Torres, 29, today became a multimillionaire by winning $35-million in Lotto Max.

He was handed over the cheque at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

The new college graduate shares the $70 million prize with a British Columbian.

In a press release, OLG quoted Torres, who bought the winning ticket on June 22, as saying, “I wanted to make sure it was real before I surprised my family and friends with this incredible news.”

He said he went to a nearby store to check the results of his ticket.

“My stomach was in knots as I was thinking about what was happening.”

Torres said when he cross-checked at another store to confirm that he had won the jackpot, “I was numb.”

The 29-year-old says he will spend the money on his family, travelling and donating to charities.

“I am going to make sure my family is taken care of and I will make some investments to make sure I am well taken care of long into the future.”
