TORONTO: Alireza Abbassi, 23, of Richmond Hill has been arrested for driving his vehicle over 200 km/hr in a 60km-limit area.
Abbassi was arrested when a York Regional Police officer on patrol spotted his vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed, going south on Bayview Avenue, at 19th Avenue, in Richmond Hill.
The speed device in the police cruiser recorded the vehicle travelling at 202 km/hr in a zone where the posted speed limit is 60 km/hr.
The vehicle was stopped safely and impounded.
Abbassi has been charged with dangerous and stunt driving and overspeeding.
