Shanthakumar Kandiah steered the boat away from the shoreline and allegedly sexually assaulted the two victims

TORONTO: Shanthakumar Kandiah, 54, of Toronto has been arrested for luring two persons onto his boat and then sexually assaulting them.

According to Toronto Police, the accused was operating a power boat in the area of Woodbine Beach on July 11 when at 10.30 pm he allegedly got two people onto his boat.

Once on the boat, he steered the boat away from the shoreline and sexually assaulted the two people.

Shanthakumar Kandiah was arrested and charged with kidnapping, sexual assault, forcible confinement and more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood.

He later appeared in court at College Park.

Police suspect there could be more victims.

The boat of the accused has been described as a 22-foot, Rinker power boat, yellow/white in colour.
