Winnipeg businessman Hemant Shah, who has played a leading role in developing business relations between India and Canada since the 1980s, will be honoured at the KOJAIN Sammelan 2018 in California on July 14.

The organizers say Shah is being honoured for tirelessly promoting trade links between Winnipeg and India for the past four decades.

“I have received many awards and honours in India, Canada, the Middle East and Russia. But this honour is very special to me and my family because it has been bestowed on me by my own community in California on our Kutchi Jain New Year Day,’’ says Shah.

“I am happy that I was able to build business bridges between my karmabhoomi (Canada) and matrubhoomi (India). I don’t have words to express my gratitude to the organizers,’’ adds Shah.

A model corporate citizen, Hemant Shah is known as `Mr India’ in his adopted city of Winnipeg in Manitoba.
