Brampton youth arrested for murder in Indo-Canadian gang war

MISSISSAUGA: A 16-year-old youth from Brampton has been arrested in connection with the murder of a 21-year-old man in a Indo-Canadian gang war in the area of Hull Street and Airport Road in Mississauga in September. 

He is the second person arrested in the case. Jastaran Sandhu, 19, of Mississauga has already been arrested and charged.

In the gang war that took place at about 8 pm on September 17, two men of one group were struck by gunshots. They were rushed to area hospitals where one of them, a 21-year-old man from Brampton, died due to the injuries. The suspects fled the scene after the incident.

On October 28, police arrested a 16-year-old youth from Brampton and charged him with first-degree murder, aggravated assault and firearm-related offences.

He appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton to face the charges.

Because of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, his identity cannot be disclosed.
