Triple stabbing in Toronto school leaves one dead, 2 injured

TORONTO:  A triple stabbing on the track field of Victoria Park Collegiate Institute in North York in Toronto has left a student dead and two injured.

The victim, who has been identified as 15-year-old Maahir Dosani, was stabbed in his abdomen. He succumbed to his injuries in hospital. Dasani was a Grade 11 student.

Two other victims – a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy – were also rushed to hospital with stab wounds.

Ahmed Rafin, 19, of Toronto, has been arrested and charged with second degree murder.

According to Toronto Police, the stabbing took place at about 3 pm. When officers responded to the incident, they found the victims with  stab wounds outside of Victoria Park Collegiate Institute and rushed them to hospital.

The stabbing spree happened after the class.

The victim’s mother Muskaan Dosani told CTV News Toronto that when she called her son after his class was over, he didn’t pick up the phone.

She said, “I messaged one of his friends who said ‘he’s in the hospital.’”

Not knowing where her son had been admitted, Muskaan said when she called patient lines she was suggested to go to Sunnybrook Hospital.

She said when she reached Sunnybrook at 6.30 pm, she was told that her son had arrived without vital signs. Half an hour, he was declared dead.

The inconsolable mother said, “We didn’t get any calls from the hospital. Nobody called us. We are still in shock. We could never imagine that this would happen to my son because he was such a good kid.”

She said he son wanted to become a dentist.
